S-Corp Conversion
Whether you currently own an LLC, Sole-Prop or other Corporation - OR you plan on starting one - you should consider structuring/restructuring your company as an S-Corp for tax purposes. Converting to an S-Corp allows you and any other owner of the company, to save THOUSANDS of dollars on federal taxes.
As an S-Corp, you - the owner or owners - put yourself on payroll and pay yourself a salary like any other employee. Then whatever profits are left you take as "Shareholder Distribution," which is NOT subject to Federal Taxes (Social Security and Medicare).
To convert, there are rules and forms to file with the IRS, as well as changes you'll need to make to payroll and your tax return filing at the end of the year.
